A BELL'S PURPOSE: On a cool desert night with a full moon, an old gray-bearded biker was making his way back from Mexico, his saddlebags brimming with trinkets for the kids at home and his biker friends. Everything seemed perfect, but little did he know of the gremlins lying in wait. These mischievous creatures had set traps on the road or deployed invisible devilish devices to disrupt the biker's journey. As the biker rounded a sharp turn, they herded a coyote onto the road, causing him to skid and crash.

The biker woke up in the ditch to find the gremlins moving towards him. His saddlebag had been torn off and lay beside him. In a moment of desperation, he started throwing the items from his bag, and to his amazement, the only things that seemed to scare the gremlins were the bells he had purchased for the children. Grabbing the bells, he found that the ringing sound confused the gremlins.

Fortunately, a couple of fellow bikers heard the bells and came to the old gray-beard's rescue, yelling to frighten away any animals that might be threatening him. Overjoyed at being saved, the biker cut some tassels from his saddlebag and used them to tie a bell to each of their bikes. He explained how the bells would warn off the gremlins and how, if they ever found themselves in trouble, they could ring the bell to call for help.

The bell should be hung from the lowest part of the bike, as the gremlins will be trapped in its hollow if they try to reach for the bike. Additionally, it should be hung towards the front, as the ringing sound will drive the gremlins away.
